Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Château de Vaudieu, Tradition white 2018
This white wine represents the classic characteristics of the Vaudieu wine estate
White Grenache 52%, Roussanne 21%, Clairette 27%
Gallet rond (pudding stones) and limestone + flint
After waiting for the optimum ripeness, the grapes were harvested manually between August 22nd and September 13th, 2018
The grapes are picked by hand early in the morning for freshness, they are then sorted and packed to limit crushing. The bunches are gently crushed pressed in a pneumatic press. The musts are selected and sent to a thermo- regulated stainless steel tank. After settling in the cold, the Roussanne and some of the Grenache are put in barrels for alcholoic fermentation.
57% is aged in oak barrels for 8 months
Pale gold colour with silver reflections. A nose that opens with notes of white flowers and sweet spices, then lightly toasted brioche. The attack is lively, then the roundness, brought by the aging process, envelopes the taste buds. The finish is long and confirms the impression of minerality felt in the attack.
Best served 11-12°C, as an aperatif or with carpaccio of scallops with a citrus sauce, grilled sea bass or a truffle brouillade.
To be enjoyed straight away and over the next 10 years.
